6 Week Session - Ages 16+

Saturdays, January 11th to February 15th 10:00 to 1:00PM

Material Fee: 25lb bag of Clay Included

Open to beginners as well as those with more experience.

Participants will be given the opportunity to learn and practice wheel throwing techniques as well as build on existing skills. Those with experience on the wheel will have support expanding their skills and creating more advanced pieces.

Each session will include both individual as well as group instruction accompanied by throwing demonstrations. Attendees will be encouraged to identify individual interests and will be given the time, space, and instruction to build on and improve upon their wheel throwing techniques.

Week 1: Introduction and demonstration of some of the basics: clay consistency, wedging, centering, opening, and pulling. Participants will be given time to practice and can proceed at their own pace.

Weeks 2,3,4: Participants can decide on the skills they wish to learn/practice. Demonstrations will be provided as determined by individual needs.

Week 5,6: Complete work, to include trimming, decorating, bisquing, and glazing.
